Code Camps and Clubs FAQ

My child wants to take the Code Class again. Is the material the same?

In all of our coding classes, we offer different levels of exercises and depth of learning depending on the student, allowing both beginners and intermediate coders in the same camp or club. For example, if your child takes the camp as a beginner one week, s/he can return for an “intermediate” session at another time. The camp/club may have the same name, but we will customize your child’s learning based on where he is in his knowledge of coding.

I want to enroll my kids in the same camp, but one of them is younger than the minimum age

We like having siblings together in our camps. Siblings often help support one another in camp and it’s easier for parents and.  The challenge is when they don’t both meet the camp age range, but we do allow exceptions.

If your child is only 6 months to 1 year younger than the camp’s minimum age, to determine your child’s success, ask yourself…

  • Can my child focus for 30-45 minutes at a time?
  • Does my child enjoy tinkering, solving puzzles, and persist in figuring things out?
  • Will my child not be frustrated trying to keep up with an older sibling?

If your answer is Yes to the above, then we can make an exception and recommend one of the mashup camps with game or robot coding. The Minecraft camp is bit more structured, younger students may do well with it if they already have experience with Scratch or

During enrollment, please add a note to your child’s registration regarding age exception and sibling support.

Do you offer Middle School Code Clubs?

We do, but so far only a few schools have been interested, so most of our classes are offer as summer camps – Minecraft Mods, Python and more. If you know a group of middle school students interested in a school code club, please contact us – we’d love to help you get one started!

Can I get a refund if my child doesn't like the class?

Yes you can! If your child finds the class is not a good fit, no worries. We offer a pro-rated refund for the remaining hours of any club or camp your child is enrolled in. Send us an email and we’ll withdraw your child from the class and process the refund, no questions asked.

Why are School Club prices different for some schools?

We offer all of our coding clubs at the same base price, and for schools or districts that charge a room rental fee or administrative fee, that is added in. This allows us to keep our prices low for xtra savings to parents.

Is there a sibling discount?

Yes! You asked and we listened. We now offer a 5% sibling discount on all of our code camps and school clubs. You will see a “Sibling Seat” ticket displayed for any class you’re interested. If you don’t see it, please contact us.

What's the TechVenture Kids EIN?

We are often asked this question during tax season. You will find it listed on the class enrollment receipt. If you don’t find this confirmation in your email box, sign into your account at, click on your name in to the top right corner and My Account.

What's the experience of your teachers?

All of our lead instructors teach year-round in both after-school clubs and summer camps. We often pair a teen in our class to assist who has computer science skills as well.

What's your cancellation policy?

If we receive a request for cancellation at least 14 days prior to the start of class, a FULL refund,  less a $20 administrative fee, will be given. There are NO REFUNDS given less than 14 days prior to start of a class unless there is a wait listed student available to take the seat. More details can be found in our refund policy.
