Summer is here – time for your kids to explore the subjects they’re curious about.
Our Virtual STEM Code Camp is the perfect, home-based option for kids seeking guidance, fun and collaboration while learning something new with friends. Best of all, they gain confidence as they learn to meet challenges. In online summer stem code camps, kids have fun exploring and creating animations and games with Minecraft, Scratch, and Python.
Experienced instructors establish a comfortable environment to encourage learning and exploration with cool new projects, video lessons and 2-hour video conferencing classes. This enables your child to interact with the instructor as much as they would in person. Video conferencing and screen-sharing capabilities allow teachers to work with campers in a group as well as individually.
Camp groups have a maximum of 7 students per teacher. To support students learning at their own pace, instructors provide individual support with project design and debugging to each camper as they work on their projects in class.
An added bonus: students can continue to create with code online all summer with the learning platforms we use in our camps.
Minecraft is our platform of choice for game-play learning. It’s an open and immersive learning environment where game-play gives students immediate and ongoing feedback about their choices. The Minecraft: Education Edition offers an engaging environment for learning computer science essentials, such as conditionals, functions, coordinates and more. Students can choose to code with visual blocks or directly with Python, and are challenged daily as they solve problems and collaborate together. Learning happens by doing. No previous coding experience required. Our coaches guide students at all skill levels in live virtual classrooms or in-person at our camps in Issaquah. We offer 2 different Modding classes:
Build Modding: Learn to quickly build structures with code, like staircases, houses and mazes creating a world of your imagination.
Survival Modding: Learn to use code and your survival instincts to create survival tools and strategies.
Calling all storytellers and innovators! Make animated stories and arcade games with Scratch, a drag-and-drop creative learning environment. In this camp, kids sequence code blocks to bring their ideas to life, gaining confidence in computational thinking. Girls and boys design and program computer games, animations and code their robots to solve mini real-world challenges. Campers develop essential STEM skills through game design and play, exercising reasoning, math, and problem-solving.

Level up! Python is an easy-to-learn and dynamic language that is widely used by software developers and scientists in machine learning, banking, scientific computing, and video games. Start with the basics in our Intro to Python and continue deeper into Python creating classic arcade games like Asteroids, Bubble Pop and Pong. New projects build upon coding concepts each day, deepen students understanding of loops, conditionals, functions and lists. Our instructors support and coach students via a daily virtual classroom as they try, fail, and try again to achieve the result they want.
