Lead Instructor (Lead-in-training): Seattle, Bellevue (After-school Clubs)
Assistant Instructor: Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond (After-school Clubs)
We seek creative and enthusiastic teachers who have a genuine interest in using technology to create and invent things, such as computer games, animations, circuits and more. A teaching certificate is nice, but not required.
- Do you have experience working with kids, in the classroom or in extracurricular activities?
- Do you enjoy creative problem-solving, puzzles and figuring out how to make things work?
- Have at least 4 hours per week available during after-school hours (2:00 – 5:30 pm)?
DO I NEED CODING and ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE?
Teaching skill and experience comes first, computer programming comes second. Why? Because teaching is harder than coding. We will teach you to code, but you should have a keen interest in problem-solving, critical thinking and enjoy learning to code and tinkering as much as kids do!
We are growing fast and have requests to teach at more Seattle, Redmond and Bellevue schools, but we don’t have enough teachers in those areas. We’d love for you to join our team so we can reach more students.
An extensive background check is required, along with references. The schools where we teach may require their own separate background checks. Child safety comes before all other considerations in hiring.
We encourage Teachers, Tutors, Students and Parents to apply!
Send us an email at Jobs@TechVentureKids.org describing your recent work / volunteer experiences with kids and a brief description of your computer experience/skills and which position you are interested in (Lead or Assistant, City).
Are you interested in helping out in our classes? We are always happy to have a volunteer join our classes and work directly with students helping them one-on-one. If this sounds like fun to you, send us an email at Jobs@TechVentureKids.org and tell us your computer experience and which city you’d like to volunteer.
